How can language be a form of oppression?

Language can be a form of oppression when some one says a word in a language that you don't know and it is talking about race. It is also when the students in Soweto Uprising:thousands of students stand united.  This is when all those students protesting that they wanted freedom and no difference in race.   How people judge others bye there skin color or eyes etc. In the book typewriter the police were capturing people who got out of there houses plus they would be in trouble.
